The items on our website are 925 Sterling Silver and where possible, include the 925 Sterling Silver mark. This tells you the precious metal content, expressed in parts per thousand (in other words, the metal is 92.5% Sterling Silver).
In the UK it is illegal to sell or describe any item as Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium unless it is hallmarked. However, there is a weight exception of 7.78gm.
All of the items on our site weigh less than 7.78 grams and by law do not have to bear the hallmark. This is because small, fine pieces of jewellery can be damaged in the hallmarking process, or simply do not have a surface suitable for hallmarking. You will see that we still do our very best to ensure that smaller items are hallmarked anyway, even if it is not a legal requirement. You are always welcome to contact us in advance of your purchase to enquire whether an item bears a hallmark or not.
